Revelation is full of symbolic language, but the number 1,260 is strikingly precise. It appears in Revelation 11:3 (the two witnesses prophesy for 1,260 days) and Revelation 12:6 (the woman flees to the wilderness for 1,260 days). This is 3.5 years on a 360-day prophetic calendar — exactly 42 months or "a time, times, and half a time."
The Mathematics
1,260 = 42 months × 30 days = 3.5 years. And 3.5 = 7 ÷ 2. Seven is God's number of perfection and completion. Cutting it in half means an interrupted completion — a period that is deliberately cut short. Jesus confirmed this: "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short" (Matthew 24:22).
